Bio-data of Dr. S. Kalyanaraman

Currently President, Sarasvati Sindhu Research Centre, Chennai; Advisor, Institute of Economic Education, Chennai; Advisor, Renganathan Centre for Information Studies, Chennai; Academic Advisor, Itihaasa Sankalana Yojana, Tamil Nadu.

He was a senior executive in the Asian Development Bank, Manila, Philippines for 17 years until 1995, controlling disbursements on a loan portfolio of 60 billion US Dollars, for project loans and technical assistance in 29 developing countries of Asia-Pacific region and directing the worldwide network of the Bank's information systems, as an international financial institution. He is a graduate in Economics and Statistics, has a doctorate in Public Administration from the University of the Philippines; his dissertation published as a book PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION IN ASIA, Ashish Publishers, New Delhi is a comparative study of development administration in six Asian countries.

He was a member of the Indian Railway Accounts Service, and functioned as Financial Adviser on the Indian Railways for 18 years; was Chief Controller of Accounts, Karnataka Electricity Board, Bangalore for 2 years; Auditor for 4 years in the Office of the Accountant General,  Karnataka State.

He is an indologist and contributed to the history of science and technology in Ancient India (collaborating with Dr. Debiprasad Chattopadhyaya), compiled a multi-lingual comparative dictionary for 25 Indian languages; published Indian Alchemy: Soma in the Rigveda (Munshiram Manoharlal, Delhi, in press); designed and maintained the websites: http://sarasvati.simplenet.com and http://www.investindia.com to promote historical and developmental studies and decipherment of the script of the civilization. He has contributed to the integration of multi-disciplinary studies related to the Sarasvati Sindhu Civilization ca. 3000 BC and proposed a number of development projects in the Sarasvati River Basin. He has contributed a monograph on Trade Related Intellectual Property Rights and Indian Economy in the 21st Century published by the Institute of Economic Education, 1998.
